    Inflationary theories predict a significant amount of tensor modes in the primordial density fluctuations. These tensor modes can only show up into B type polarization in the Cosmic Microwave Background.

    The level expected for these modes is however very small and their detection requires a new generation of low noise, high sensitivity detectors.

    QUBIC is a project of a “Bolometric Interferometer” to be installed at the Concordia station in Dome C, Antarctica. We hope to be able to constrain tensor to scalar ratio of about 0.01 in the next few years.
