Monopoles and strings: interactions, scattering, creation and decay

In this seminar I will describe a series of numerical studies that
reveal novel properties of magnetic monopole-antimonopole pairs, including
their creation from particles. The decay of cosmic string loops is also studied
using high resolution simulations to determine if they primarily decay into
particles or into gravitational waves.
