6th APC Scientific Workshop
Astrophysics and gravitational waves
From the 2nd of May until the 1st of July 2011, the APC laboratory is organizing a scientific workshop aimed at reviewing the field of gravitational waves astrophysics. A few specific events are organized during this period : an informal workshop on Gravitational Waves and Matter Wave Interferometers (18-19 May), the Cargèse School in Gravitational Waves (23-28 May), the conference Cosmological Frontiers in Fundamental Physics 2011 (14-17 June).
Throughout the 2-month long workshop, international experts from the gravitational wave astrophysics community will be present for periods of a few days to a few weeks to discuss and work in an interactive environment. Special attention will be paid to the new situation in the space program where a study for a European-led gravitational wave observatory is now conducted by ESA.
