COrE / PRISM workshop for a M4 ESA mission
February 10-11, 2014
APC, Paris

THE MEETING WILL BE HELD AT

ECOLE NATIONALE D’ARCHITECTURE AND APC

ESA is rumoured to be about to announce a competition for the M4 slot of ESA Cosmic Vision. Two proposals have already been submitted to ESA in the past for a CMB polarization satellite---B-Pol and COrE. However, despite receiving very positive reviews, these proposals were ultimately not selected because of the very keen competition, as well as the argument "we should wait for the Planck results". More recently, an even more ambitious L-class mission proposal called PRISM was submitted and made it among the few finalist missions, raising the profile of the idea that Europe should capitalize on its expertise and choose to follow up PLANCK with a dedicated polarization satellite mission.

The primary objective of this two-day workshop, which will start at 9:00 on Monday and end by 16:00 on Tuesday, is to define and discuss the major design choices to be addressed for defining our next M4 bid and to initiate concrete work on these questions. The first day (which should be the priority for those who cannot attend both days) will be devoted to plenary presentations and discussion while the second day will focus more on planning concrete actions and organizing work.

Please register on this page to confirm your attendance (preferably by February 3rd). There will be no registration fee.

We would like to thank the Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Architecture (ENSA)

for their hospitality in allowing us to use their facilities and CNES (Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales) for financial support that helped to support this workshop.
